System Engineer (7609)

Role Purpose

To ensure that all dyehouse IT systems are functioning to support LpMpD and Colour Quality. 

To train all users of Sedo/Lawer/Autolab systems.

To liaise with suppliers, local IT and Colour Systems Team to solve problems as they occur.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

1. Handling system issues

• Work with suppliers to fix periodic problems with the dyehouse systems.
• Conduct basic training for supervisors/operators to fix common issues.
• Work with local IT to ensure networks are running correctly.

2. System maintenance

• Work with Lawer and Sedo to implement preventative maintenance programmes for all dyehouse computer systems
• Ensure all software is current.
• Analyse systems and downtime to create action plans that minimise system downtime.
• Work with maintenance to minimise controller failures.

3. Calibration

• Ensure all systems are calibrated.
• Work with maintenance to ensure correct calibration of dye machines

4. Dye profile programming

• En sure all dye machine programmes are entered correctly into Sedo Master.
• Support the dyehouse manager in identifying issues which can lead to poor dyehouse productivity.

5. Colour Quality Improvement

• Contribute to WFT analysis along with proposals for improvement
• Responsible for improving colour quality of SSP and IBN

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• University graduate – preferably information technology.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Well understand network and interfaces in manufacturing.
• Good analytical skill.
• Ability to manage and prioritize own workload.
• Ability to demand quality every time
