SSI Institute is the main domain in Vehicle
Development Division of VinFast, responsible of developing Smart Services including Connected Car Back-end, FOTA, SOTA, Remote Services, Virtual
Assisstant,…, Infotainment and connectivity devices (Multimedia Head
Unit, Telematic Box, XGateway), Cyber Security on the vehicle.
Position Responsibilities
One Project Management Engineer may not have all of the responsibilities mentioned below. Specific assignment shall be given by the Head of Program Management as the case may be.
Project Planning:
- Receive requirements and propose solutions and execution approaches.
- Define the appropriate methodology (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum) and related processes.
- Propose the final project plan, including scope of works, deliverables, milestones, resources, budgets, quality control, risk & issue management.
- Develop and maintain the roadmap for phone applications and web services supporting connected features (e.g., remote control, vehicle status, OTA, charging management).
- Generate release schedules and manage live documentation for app & web projects.
- Coordinate with Planning and Business teams for new contracts and third-party feature integration.
- Gather, consolidate, and align input requirements (SOR, UX/UI specs, functional & technical requirements).
Project Management:
- Prepare and kick off projects on time.
- Follow up and manage project’s quality, timeline, documentation, and scope.
- Identify and propose solutions to any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (internal teams, suppliers, management) to ensure project delivery.
- Regularly prepare and provide reports and dashboards to other related departments and management.
- Track progress using metrics: release velocity, defect density, uptime, crash rate, user experience KPIs.
Project Maintenance & Closure
- Prepare for handover to operation/maintenance teams.
- Evaluate the performance of the team and individual members.
- Prepare final project report and conduct project closure activities.
- Ensure that lessons learned are documented and reused in future projects.

Others
- Research and propose new solutions to improve efficiency.
- Train and coach junior team members.
- Perform other tasks assigned by upper management.
- Maintain continuous improvement mindset in alignment with VinFast & Vingroup strategies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Coordinate internal resources (BE/FE/App/UXUI/QA) and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Negotiate deliverables, timelines, and quality standards with suppliers.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical teams, management, and external stakeholders.
Financial & Resource Oversight
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Forecast resource requirements and adjust allocation based on project needs.
- Report regularly on budget usage, risks, and potential overruns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development and project management (or equivalent).
- Experience in end-to-end project life cycle management (initiation → planning → execution → closure).
- Experience working with US and EU customers.
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and ability to define & adapt methodology based on project type.
- Experience working in a cross-functional, cross-organizational context.
- Experience with roles such as BA/Dev/QA is a plus.
- PMP or Agile certificates are a plus.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese (written & spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Business Analyst (BA) or in solution requirement analysis.
- Experience with automotive connected features, IoT, telematics, or cloud integration.
- Familiarity with data privacy & security compliance (e.g., GDPR, local regulations).
- Experience with app store/web release management (iOS, Android, Web).
- Strong business acumen, capable of balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business value.
