About the Opportunity: As a Senior Scrum Master at Crossian LLC, you will be pivotal in fostering an Agile culture and guiding our teams to deliver high-quality products. You will collaborate closely with Development team, Product Managers, Business owners, and other stakeholders to ensure that Scrum practices are effectively implemented and continuously improved. This role demands a proactive leader who can facilitate Agile processes and enhance team performance while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Agile Coaching and Facilitation:
- Coach teams in self-management and cross-functionality, helping them to focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done (DoD).
- Train and coach Product Managers & Business Owners on effective Product Goal definition, Product Backlog management, and release planning to maximize business value.
- Ensure Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) are positive, productive, and within the timebox.
- Facilitate getting work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Team and Process Improvement:
- Identify gaps in the Agile process or skills to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement and continuously improve Scrum adoption at the team and organizational levels.
- Conduct Scrum maturity assessments and create improvement plans based on findings.
- Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style and lead by example.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with the Product Managers & Business Owners and other teams to maintain clear communication on project status and details.
- Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Report promptly and transparently about project progress to stakeholders, periodically and upon request.
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged.
Performance Enhancement:
- Adopt appropriate stances such as Trainer, Mentor, Coach, Leader, Facilitator, Manager, and Change Agent as needed.
- Help teams improve their effectiveness and efficiency through training and coaching activities.
- Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments.
- Train and coach teams to use Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, Asana, Slack, GSuite, and others.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields is preferred.
- Advanced degrees and professional Scrum certifications (e.g., A-CSM, CSP-SM, PSM II) are highly desirable.
Professional Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a Scrum Master role for software development teams diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Proven experience in training, coaching, and mentoring different roles such as Product Managers & Business Owners, Designer, Developer, Tester, and Manager.
- Strong experience in scaling Scrum for multi-teams and wider organizations.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with engineering best practices (e.g., TDD, ATDD, CICD, automation) and common Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Gitlab, SonarQ, Slack,..).
- Strong analytical skills to solve problems and remove impediments effectively.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and influence strategic decisions.
- Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, motivation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams and promoting collaboration in a dynamic environment.
