About the Role
The role is within the Renewables Advisory Department of Energy System Business Area and comprises the delivery of Project Development and Measurement Services to Advisory customers in South East Asia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan (SeaJaKoTa).
You will join a diverse Renewables Advisory practice, which consists of more than 180 staff across the Asia‑Pacific region.
The role can be based in Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand.
Key Responsibilities
The main activities of the Renewables Measurement & Data Engineer role include:
- Perform regular data quality control checks and investigation of wind, solar, and energy storage measurement and performance data using DNV’s Resource Panorama Service and related digital platforms
- Support and participate in on‑site measurement activities, including commissioning of wind, solar, and energy storage measurement and performance monitoring equipment, as well as installation supervision
- Work closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to update measurement status, support troubleshooting, and resolve data‑, system‑, or equipment‑related issues
- Provide technical insights using measurement data to quantify wind and solar resources and to assess the performance of wind turbines, solar PV systems, and energy storage assets at project sites
- Support and contribute to the broader services of the Project Development and Measurement section, including both office‑based analysis and site‑based activities across wind, solar, and storage technologies

Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Degree in engineering, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, or another relevant discipline
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Foundational experience or strong interest in data analysis, data quality checking, and reporting, ideally related to engineering or renewable energy data
- Openness to work across both office‑based analysis and occasional site‑based activities, including learning exposure to measurement equipment commissioning and installation supervision
- Basic understanding of wind and solar resource measurement or power performance measurement concepts, gained through coursework, internships, or entry‑level roles
- Ability to follow defined procedures and work under guidance during on‑site measurement, commissioning, or troubleshooting activities
- Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable working with large datasets, with attention to detail and a structured approach to checking, validation, and documentation
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, sufficient for technical communication, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams, customers, and contractors
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under supervision in a multi‑cultural environment
Additional Experience (Advantageous)
Measurement & Field Experience
- Hands‑on experience with on‑site commissioning, installation supervision, or acceptance testing of wind and solar resource or power performance measurement equipment
- Familiarity with data logging systems, communications hardware, and sensor configurations used in wind and solar measurements
- Experience executing specialized tests or supporting power performance measurements on operating wind turbines and solar PV systems
Digital & Data Analytics
- Experience with coding or scripting (e.g. Python, MATLAB, R, or similar) for data processing, quality control, automation, or visualization
- Exposure to data analytics workflows, including data cleaning, validation, trend analysis, and performance assessment
- Familiarity with digital platforms for measurement data management, analytics, or reporting (e.g. cloud‑based or web‑based systems)
IoT & Systems Integration
- Understanding of IoT‑based measurement systems, including sensor networks, data acquisition systems, and remote monitoring
- Experience working with or supporting systems integration between field measurement equipment, data loggers, communication networks, and analytics platforms
- Basic knowledge of telemetry, data transmission, or remote diagnostics for measurement systems is an advantage
Industry Knowledge
- Working knowledge of the renewable energy industry, particularly wind and solar project development, construction, and operations
- Experience working with project developers, owners, or EPC contractors is beneficial
Physical Requirements
The role involves a normal office environment combined with occasional site work, which may include walking, standing, bending, and reaching during site activities.
