Our client is a leading technology company, who is looking for a qualified candidate to join their firm.
- Build and maintain backend services in a microservices architecture using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Build event-driven systems leveraging Kafka or equivalent messaging frameworks.
- Operate within a containerized environment (Kubernetes), preferably deployed on AWS infrastructure.
- Handle relational data operations and performance optimization in PostgreSQL databases (Amazon RDS).
- Explore and implement solutions using Generative AI technologies such as LLM APIs, Spring AI, LangChain, or Amazon Bedrock.
- Adhere to engineering best practices: secure coding, test automation, and system optimization.
- Work closely with frontend developers, infrastructure engineers, and architects to deliver complete and integrated solutions.
- Stay current with backend trends and advocate for the adoption of modern backend tools and strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years in software engineering with a strong focus on backend systems.
- 3–6 years of experience working with Kotlin and Spring Boot in production environments.
- Exposure to GenAI concepts and tooling (e.g., LLM APIs, prompt design, or vector search).
- Experience designing microservice architectures and working with Kafka or message brokers.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes deployments and cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL database systems and cloud-hosted DB management.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, system security, and code quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, ELK, or Grafana.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Helm, Terraform, GitOps).
- Knowledge of GraphQL or reactive programming frameworks.
- Passion for tech community: open-source contributions or blog authorship.
