Responsibilities & what we are looking for 

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Data Governance Steward to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of customer data in our "Customer Base" software, according to our data governance policies and procedures. This role is critical to maintaining the high quality of our data and mitigating risks.



Responsibilities

- Create and maintain new customer records in "Customer Base" according to established data governance procedures, based on requests from the business.
- Identify and eliminate duplicate customer records within "Customer Base".
- Assess customer risk profiles by looking them up in Dunn & Bradstreet and applying a pre-defined decision matrix.
- Perform data cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure data quality meets pre-defined standards set by the Data Governance Manager. This may include tasks like verifying data accuracy, ensuring customer records are active and non-duplicate, and following established data hierarchies.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance Manager, Sales, and operational staff in the Road and Air & Sea divisions on data governance issues.
- Assist with data analysis to identify data quality issues.

Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience with data entry, data cleaning, and data management.
- Understanding of data governance principles and the importance of data quality.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in database software (like "Customer Base") and Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- English on proficient written level
